It was ok for 2 nights to visit Stempede. One of the closest campgrounds to the city. There is a fenced playground on-site and peacocks to have a look at for the kids. We loved the shuttle ($10 per person one way) at 8am or 11.30am to Stempede and return 6.30pm and midnight. Although we ended up getting a cab back for about $45. You can hear the noise from the highway. Not every site has a firepit. There are laundry facilities available, however only 2 washing machines worked). They also offer $7 breakfast (pancakes, sausages, coffee/juice) from 9-11 during Stempede. We would stay again for convenience reasons.
