You're not allowed to sleep in Banff as it is a National Park, but they only give you a warning on the first day. Use the campground if you can: two-jack main campground is only +/-20$ (mind the 10$ fee if you want to book in advance). If you decide to park in the city anyway (at your own risk), pay attention to the railway (absolutely noisy).
