Description
When we couldn't get into any of the Provincial campgrounds in the area (long weekend) we were told about the Cottonwood Municipal Campground and Park on Stuart Lake (an 80km long lake) in Fort St James British Columbia. Beautiful location well maintained. Total 10 campsites 6 with 30 amp power hookup and 4 with 50 amps.
Recommend reservation as we were lucky to get the last spot.
$25 x 6 Lake drive sites (has Great Lake view)
$30 x 4 Lakefront sites.
Municipal park has great playground area and information on wildlife, trails and ecology.
Currently a boiled water advisory (started Aug 4,2023) due to maintenance work on local water system.

Beautiful spot on Stuart Lake. Very clean and tidy. No shade areas in campsite. Municipal Park area with picnic tables by playground well shaded and right on lake. Swimming, boating and fishing on lake. Located on the edge of Fort St James.
