Description

A small, shady site next to a creek. There are 7 campsites with tables and toilets. An open forest makes for easy exploration. Also, there is a trail on the south side of the access road. Take time to visit the nearby Village of Sayward, Kelsey Bay and other recreation sites in the area. Driving Directions: From Campbell River, follow Highway 19 north. The site access road is on the left hand side of the highway (sign visible), just past the turnoff to Sayward. The site is about an hour drive from Campbell River.

Near the highway but very quiet. A real campground and free.

We stayed here one night in July 2021 on a bicycle trip. I don't know why the description says that camping in tent is not allowed. We were not the only ones with a tent. Nice place but not all sites have picnic tables. We didn't have one. Also, the access to the creek is very difficult, muddy and steep. OK for one night.
