Description
This 3,000 acre conservation area was created when the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) built Fanshawe Dam and Reservoir in 1950-52, to protect the City of London from flooding. This 'outdoor playground,' perched on the edge of London, offers camping (both seasonal and overnight), boating, canoe and kayak rentals, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking, bird watching, fishing, special events, and so much more!
We recommend you reserve a campsite in advance to avoid disappointment. The campground is usually busy on weekends from late June to early September, and full on most holiday weekends.
A 3 night minimum reservation that includes a Friday, Saturday and Sunday is required for the following holiday weekends:
Victoria Day (May 19-22, 2017)
Civic Holiday (August 4-7, 2017)
Labour Day (September 1-4, 2017).
A 3 night minimum reservation that includes a Friday and Saturday, or a Saturday and Sunday, is required for the following holiday weekend:
Canada Day when July 1st falls on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday (June 30 - July 3, 2017)
A 2 night minimum stay is required on all other weekends from the third Friday in June until the Labour Day weekend (June 16-September 1, 2017).
