Update of my previous post: somebody arrived late and put their tent directly on the beach about 200 feet East from the campground. They didn't seem to have any problem.

August 2018: not free anymore. Now part of the municipal campground. $25/night for a tent with 2 people.

Lovely spot for a free overnight while off-season (May)! It was absolutely amazing. Weve been the only ones that night. Had a fantastic evening right next to a red sanded beach with an epic view. Highly recommended!
