Description

This is a popular hiking and cross-country skiing destination in the middle of the North Saskatchewan River. The Island is accessed from our signature arched bridges. Finlayson Island was named in 1964 by the Government of Saskatchewan in honour of Donald (Dan) Matheson Finlayson an innovative farmer who homesteaded in the Battle River Valley. His homestead was burned during the Rebellion and he served as a Member of Parliament from 1908 until 1934.

Big parking lot that's quiet. There is a bridge with a 8 ton limit to get to it.
