Description
The McIntyre Park Campground is located on the shore of the Mayo River, north-west of the town site of Mayo. This Campground is operated by the Municipality. Camping is free.
When traveling from Stewart Crossing, this campground can be accessed by turning right from the Silver Trail Highway approx. 100 meters prior to passing over the Mayo River Bridge. The campground has 5 campsites with fire pits and picnic tables. Wood is provided. There is also a gazebo in the centre of the campground. Two outhouses are located near the Gazebo. There is no drinking water at this campground. However, tourists/visitors can fill their 5 gallon water containers or water tanks in their campers at the Village of Mayo Offices during regular working hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-noon and 1-5 pm).
Campers using Mayo River water are advised to boil their water for 5 minutes before use.
This campground is suitable for tenting, as well as small and medium size campers.

Marker is in the right spot. Nice free campsite right next to the river with several spots all equipped with picnic tables and fire pits. Be bear aware. We saw a large black bear at the entrance of the campground on our arrival.
